Who we are

New Zealand’s housing crisis demands innovation, speed, and sustainability: Select SIP is delivering just that!

Select SIP, together with Peritus (Select SIP’s major shareholder), have undertaken extensive research to develop unique structural insulated panels (SIPs) which incorporate magnesium sulphate sheathing (MgSO4 Board) and ancillary building products to deliver a fully integrated housing system (Select SIP System) for the construction of residential and light commercial buildings.

Twenty years of building envelope development and product refinement for the New Zealand market have created a 5th generation SIP system that has redefined the SIP standard. Internationally proven, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) speed up construction, enhance performance, and reduce on-site waste. These high-performance, thermally efficient panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between durable sheathing.

Currently using an exclusive licencing model, Select SIP are looking to grow the SIP market in New Zealand. Once a sustainable level of revenue is reached, Select SIP intends to shift its focus from licencing to wholly owned production facilities. Read more about Select SIPs recent growth in our Information Memorandum.

Select SIP’s leading edge construction competes dollar for dollar with traditional timber frame construction offering better time efficiencies by requiring fewer finishing layers. SIPs are simply easier and faster to install which has a direct correlation to construction cost. Select SIP is building a large portfolio of construction projects that are built to the highest structural, energy efficient and environmental standards with no compromise on design.

  • Superior system: The unique chemistry in our panels makes them the superior choice for builders.

  • Superior process: Our advanced product allows developers to focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of residential construction in New Zealand.

Homes built with Select SIP’s prefabricated, panelised assembly system overcome significant challenges facing New Zealand’s housing and construction sectors. With New Zealanders spending nearly 70% of their time inside their home, a healthy home is important. SIP systems are up to 15 times more airtight, with potential energy savings of 50-70% over the life of a structure. Innovation, advanced science and product superiority result in homes that have a minimum 6 Homestar rating, compared to 2-4 stars for most new home builds.

Select SIP is positioned to be widely and aggressively accepted in the market. This is your opportunity to invest in a product that builds better homes, buildings, developments and communities for everyone.

Why developers choose Select SIP

Select SIP’s superior quality product creates warmer, healthier, longer-lasting homes for the harsh climate of New Zealand, with a cost-effective solution, delivered faster than construction systems currently available in the country.

We have built a durable, non-combustible, energy efficient SIP, strength tested to withstand substantial seismic events. The knowledge and experience of our team combined with extensive testing have created a superior, safer, healthier product.

Select SIP’s procurement, manufacturing and delivery model optimises scalability, flexibility and built-in margin resulting in more value for developers and social housing providers. The streamlined building process reduces the level of technical expertise required on-site and has the potential to bring employment to smaller regions.

The building process

Prefabricated roof/floor cassettes and wall sections are manufactured in climate-controlled factories. This steady-state environment enables the product to perform to its fullest capacity.

The building envelope is prepped in the factory and delivered on-site so that a project can be weathertight in as little as one to five days. Prefabricated sections arrive ready to be craned into place and plastered.

Faster building lock-up means less exposure to weather. This high volume, fast installation allows for large scale construction with an incredibly efficient delivery model, resulting in savings for builders and clients.
