Leather holds a significant position in the fashion and luxury goods industry. However, traditional animal-based leather production is not only environmentally damaging but also ethically unsustainable. In response, sustainable next-gen textiles are strong market offerings - demand in fashion & automotive is already at US 1.2b and growing, at 37% CAGR, with 2035 market size predicted to be US 50b.

Mycelia offers a sustainable, ethical, and versatile alternative to animal-based leather and is 8% of the next-gen textiles market. SaproTech has unlocked the challenges of the mycelium leather with its unique fungi, growth method and green biochemistry to make leather with low emissions and scalable with low cost of manufacture. With less than US 1m (Pre-Seed), we have been able to make significant progress

• Routinely developing 2nd generation materials with proprietary biopolymers
• Producing materials that show performance parity with leather and making sample products with the material
• Creating a Lab with production facilities that have shown a 5x lift in productivity
• Developing an IP and freedom to operate strategy (just filed first patent)
• Signing four fashion brands as our pioneer customers and having two LOIs - Saben, YY Nation, Velvet Heartbeat & taylor boutique
• Building a community including research & commercial team, board and advisors and a seed and series A pipeline

Other next generation materials innovators have had challenges with form, scaling production, unit economics and delivering a material that is both sustainable (plastic free) and having a low emissions profile. Our progress shows we are on track to "unlocking’ mycelium!
