🌟 This International Women's Day, let's empower women entrepreneurs! 💼 💪 Investing in small and medium-sized enterprises led by women isn't just an investment in business – it's an investment in equality, opportunity, and prosperity for all.

Remember our blog on 5 wāhine leading the NZ investment charge? We thought it would be about time to see what they’ve been up to since we last wrote about them. Here’s what we found:

Kristen Lunman and Natalie Ferguson


Just a refresher… Kristen and Natalie were the co-founders of Hatch, one of New Zealand’s DIY investment platforms with over 5,800 of the world’s biggest companies and more than 1,900 exchange traded funds (ETF’s) now available to invest in.

Well since 2022, Hatch has been successfully sold to Global wrap platform provider FNZ…. And Kristen and Natalie have started up yet another innovative company. Powrsuit tackles the gender gap within leadership roles by using their expertise to guide like-minded women on becoming the leaders they were meant to be! Learn and be mentored by two of the leadings Kiwi’s in the investment space by becoming a Powrsuit member here.

Mary Holm


A renowned columnist and investment author, Mary has continued to give excellent discussions around money with “Your money with Mary Holm.” She has also paired once again with the FMA and started a short series calledMoney with Mary which shares practical tips on a variety of money matters such as kiwisaver funds, setting financial goals, ethical investing and more!

Girls that invest


Wow, has this been a big few years for Simran Kaur and Sonya Gupthan. Their podcast “Girls that Invest” is an award-winning global investing podcast which has been heard by over 60 countries since they started and has generated more than $1.4 million in revenue!

We also want to congratulate Simran on being a 2023 Forbes 30 under 30 Honouree (Asia) and for being recognised as a 2024 Young New Zealander of the year finalist!

Victoria Harris and Sophie Hallwright have continued to stay on top of the game by hitting huge milestones at the end of 2023. How do we know this? Well… because they were announced as the Best Branded Podcast at the NZ Podcast awards! Amassing over 50,000 monthly listeners, over 1 million downloads, and winning best education and best independent podcast awards its no wonder they are absolutely killing it!

They just had their first live podcast as well and we’re so excited to see where they end up next!

Sarah Kelsey


Founder and host of the OneUp Project, Sarah shares her knowledge on Instagram, and the OneUp Project podcast by interviewing industry professionals as well as sharing valuable investment and well being tips for all Kiwis. Reaching 13,000 followers, Sarah has continued to inspire young wāhine, nurturing the idea of self-confidence, investing early and most importantly becoming the person you want to be!
